The Spider Swing

The Spiderman would be nothing without his swing. To create the characters signature slinging in the movie "The Amazing Spiderman" stunt coordinator Andy studied movements of gymnasts in slow motion to build a rig to allow Andrew and the crew to do the move. Aluminum trusses were used at various locations allowing Spiderman to jump wearing a harness and as he is about to reach ground pulley is moved forward with speed to create a slinging motion. This system has enabled director to create more realistic swings of the Spider-man.
